Curator, Moss Arts Center
The Moss Arts Center is looking for a curator to research, conceptualize, develop, and present dynamic and diverse year-round exhibitions at the Moss Arts Center, including related educational and engagement opportunities, that serve as a cultural resource to Virginia Tech and the surrounding region. The curator will work closely with both the director of programming and the Moss Arts Center’s executive director to establish vision and goals for the exhibitions. The curator will work with other center staff to develop effective implementation and operating plans, and to provide an inclusive and creative environment for exploration of the arts for all audiences, including Virginia Tech students.

Patron Services (box office, gallery attendant, and usher)
All patron services positions require strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Box office staff sell event tickets in person and by phone and manage cash and sensitive information. Gallery attendants are responsible for safeguarding works of art during gallery hours. Ushers are responsible for the safety and comfort of patrons with duties to include directing patrons to their seats, scanning tickets, and answering questions.
Production crew perform a variety of behind-the-scenes work to assist with live productions. Duties may include working with lighting, sound, staging, and rigging; constructing, moving, and striking scenery; assisting performers and road crews; and unloading and loading tour trailers. Night and weekend availability required. Leader positions available.

The patron services wage pool is open on a quarterly basis and opens/closes each January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. The position performs a variety of customer service and administrative tasks in support of events at the Moss Arts Center. Typical work may include box office staffing, ushering, and/or visual arts gallery supervision. Positions require strong customer service and interpersonal skills, evening and weekend availability, punctuality, and strong computer skills.
