The Virginia Tech Philharmonic and Virginia Tech Honor String Orchestra, under the direciton of Mathias Elmer, perform an evening School of Performing Arts concert.
The Virginia Tech Philharmonic Orchestra is Virginia Tech's symphony orchestra, bringing together music majors and non-majors from across the university. The Virginia Tech Philharmonic performs both standard orchestral masterworks and music by underrepresented composers, maintaining a high standard of artistic achievement.
The Virginia Tech Honor String Orchestra Festival brings together outstanding high school string musicians from across the region. Through masterclasses and rehearsals with Virginia Tech's acclaimed string faculty, these students engage in an enriching musical experience that culminates in this special performance.
