Have Tickets but Can't Attend?

Contact the box office at least one hour before the performance. Depending on the event, you may be able to:

While all sales are final, tickets to most events may be exchanged for another Center for the Arts performance within the current season. Please contact the box office at artscenter@vt.edu or by phone at 540-231-5300 at least one hour in advance of the scheduled performance to request an exchange. Refunds may be offered in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the box office manager.

Tickets for most events are eligible for a credit towards the purchase of another Center for the Arts event within the current season. If you are no longer able to attend an event, please contact the box office at artscenter@vt.edu or by phone at 540-231-5300 at least one hour in advance of the scheduled performance to request a credit for the value of your tickets. Ticket credits expire at the end of the current season.

If you are no longer able to attend an event, consider donating the value of your ticket. Your support helps sustain our ability to bring our community together through the arts. By choosing to donate your ticket, your seat is then released to the free student rush ticket program for Virginia Tech students. Please contact the box office at artscenter@vt.edu or by phone at 540-231-5300 to make this request, or simply turn in your extra ticket at the box office.

Exchanges and Refunds

While all sales are final, tickets to most events may be exchanged for another Center for the Arts performance within the current season. Please contact the box office at artscenter@vt.edu or by phone at 540-231-5300 at least one hour in advance of the scheduled performance to request an exchange. Refunds may be offered in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the box office manager.

In the event of a canceled performance, refunds will automatically be issued to the original form of payment. If a performance is rescheduled, ticket holders will be informed of their options to keep their tickets for the new date or request an exchange or refund.

Accessibility and Accommodation Requests

We want the center to be accessible to all. We offer accommodation through wheelchair seating, parking, and other special requests. Review additional information about accessibility at the center. To request accommodations, please email artscenter@vt.edu or call 540-231-5300.

Inclement Weather

For the safety of patrons, performers, and staff, Center for the Arts performances and special events may be canceled, postponed, and/or rescheduled due to inclement weather. Cancellation information will be posted on the website, and ticketholders will be notified via email about cancellations as soon as a determination has been made. If you do not have an active email, we will contact you by phone.

If an event is canceled without rescheduling, ticket purchases will automatically be refunded to the original form of payment. For rescheduled performance, information about ticket options will be emailed to ticketholders.

FAQs

Ticket Pricing and Purchases

Purchase your tickets through the Center for the Arts website or box office. Tickets sold by third-party vendors may be invalid or priced above face value.

Yes. We’d love to help you with your purchase or any questions you may have during box office hours, Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Ticket pricing varies by performance. For performances presented by the Center for the Arts, tickets typically range between $25 and $95 depending on the event and seating selection. Except for Broadway and select special events, these performances are generally available for subscription discounts of 15% to 25%, as well as $10 youth and student tickets. For performances presented as rental or guest events, pricing will be determined by the presenter.

For Center for the Arts-presented performances, student ticket pricing is available to anyone with a valid student ID — and that includes other colleges and universities, not just Virginia Tech. Youth ticket pricing is available for those under the age of 18.

Children under the age of three do not need a ticket if they are seated on a ticketholder’s lap. If your child is above the age of three, you will need a ticket.

Yes! Group discounts of 10% for 10 or more tickets are available for most performances presented by Center for the Arts. To learn more or purchase group discount tickets, contact the box office at 540-231-5300.

Using and Managing Your Tickets

Absolutely! You can choose to receive your ticket as a PDF by email and just show that on your phone.

It’s okay! It happens to all of us. If you’ve lost your tickets, just contact the box office at 540-231-5300 or stop by in person and they can look up your purchase for you.

For performances presented by the Center for the Arts, we can often assist you with an exchange for a different performance within the same season. If you would like to request an exchange, contact the box office at 540-231-5300 at least one hour prior to the ticketed performance.

If a performance is canceled, you will receive a refund automatically. If there are other extenuating circumstances, contact the box office at 540-231-5300 to discuss options for an exchange within the current season or refund consideration.

If there are changes to a performance — such as being canceled or postponed — all ticketholders will be notified via the email used to purchase the ticket or, in cases where an email is not available, by phone. If a performance is rescheduled, options may include using your original tickets, exchanging your tickets for a different performance, or requesting a refund. If a performance is canceled, a refund will automatically be issued to the original form of payment.

At the Venue

We usually plan for doors to open 30 minutes before the scheduled performance start time.

Let us know what you need! We want to make your experience at the Center for the Arts great. We have excellent accessible seating options on all levels of the theatre, which you can find on the seating charts when purchasing tickets. If you’d like assistance or information about those seats and for all other requests, contact us at 540-231-5300 or email artscenter@vt.edu.

For outdoor events, we will generally have a rain plan to move indoors. In the case of other types of inclement weather, we will monitor the situation closely and make a decision on how to proceed that we feel is the safest choice for patrons, performers, and staff. Updates related to inclement weather will be posted on the homepage of the website and communicated to ticketholders.

Programs are subject to change.
